As MMi reported Tuesday, Nike has just unveiled "the next big thing" in mobile fitness trackers - the iPhone-compatible Nike+ FuelBand SE.

But Nike isn't the only company setting its sights on the connected or wearable tech market. Just today, news surfaced that MetaWatch wrist-worn accessories are developing a closer-relationship with Apple products. In fact, the new Strata smartwatch is iPhone-compatible and will be available from Best Buy in the next few weeks.

“This wearable category has just exploded,” said Meta Watch CEO Bill Geiser, confirming that his company's new smartwatch will land in Best Buy stores on November 3rd.

Meta Watch debuted its smartwatch on crowd funding site Kickstarter last year, shipping out more than 1,700 devices to customers who pledged over $300,000.

Analysts at Credit Suisse say the wearable market could be worth between $3 billion to $5 billion today, exploding to more than $50 billion by 2018.
