Apple Overcomes Samsung in Japanese Courtroom

Samsung has once again sustained a legal setback in its seemingly incessant patent war with Apple. This time, however, the defeat for Samsung took place inside of a Japanese courtroom.

Consequently, Apple will not be compelled to pay damages to the South Korean tech giant, as the Japanese court ruled that Apple did not infringe on patents for the products in question. Specifically, a report Tuesday from Bloomberg elaborates, Tokyo District Court Judge Koji Hasegawa said Apple’s iPhone 4s, iPhone 4 and iPad 2 don’t infringe on data communication patents of Samsung.

Although Apple and Samsung still exchange victories and losses in courtrooms around the world, Apple continues to emerge as the primary victor, distancing itself further from Samsung's claims with each additional legal win.

Not surprisingly, Samsung isn't pleased with the Japanese court's decision. “We are disappointed by the court’s decision,” Samsung said in a statement today. “Upon a thorough review of the ruling, we will determine which measures to take, including an appeal.”
