GE, Quirky Launching 'Cool' New iPhone-Connected A/C Unit

GE, Quirky Launching 'Cool' New iPhone-Connected A/C Unit

If you've been waiting for the day when you could cool off in the midst of an A/C unit connected to your trusty iPhone, the long wait is finally over.

Meet the Quirky + GE Aros Smart Window Air Conditioner. Scheduled to ship in May, the futuristic A/C unit will run $300.

"Dumb window A/C units only give you two options: Leave the air on all day — while burning expensive electricity — or come home to nasty, stuffy summer heat," the product description reads.

But not Aros, they say. It's the smartest solution in the A/C/ business today. Aros even goes so far as to gather information about your budget, location, schedule, and usage. "It learns from this data over time to automatically maintain the perfect temperature and maximize savings for your home," the makers say.

Conveniently, using the corresponding Wink app on your iPhone, you can monitor, program, and control Aros from anywhere in the world.
