'Speedy Homey' Improves the Home Button Response By Disabling Multiple Presses

'Speedy Homey' Improves the Home Button Response By Disabling Multiple Presses

For those with older devices, such as the iPhone 4, that have constant problems with the Home Button failing to recognize your presses and end up with the App Switcher instead of closing the application you're in, or vice versa, then you might want to dumb down the Home Button's functionality a little bit so that there's less to go wrong.

A new free jailbreak tweak in Cydia's ModMyi repository called Speedy Homey by iOS developer pw5a29 will do this for you. It will disable multiple presses of the Home Button and make it so that the only thing the Home Button can do is close applications or return you to the first page of the Home Screen. You won't be able to double-press on the Home Button to launch the App Switcher anymore.

It is recommended after installing this tweak that you use an alternative tweak to access your App Switcher, such as Activator.

With Speedy Homey installed, you won't have to worry anymore about your Home Button doing everything but what you want it to do. The tweak has no options to configure. If you would like to give it a try, it's available for free right now in Cydia's ModMyi repository. While it works best for devices with poor Home Buttons, it will actually work on any device.
