NPR to Bring Live Streaming to iTunes
As part of NPR's ongoing efforts to more fully invest in and engage with the world's leading digital channels for media and music, reports surfaced Monday that suggest NPR will soon bring live streaming to iTunes.
And by "soon," we mean possibly as soon as later today. Re/code reports that National Public Radio is about to add the first news channel to Apple’s audio streaming service, "with more on the way."
Sources at NPR attest that by April, many of the broadcaster’s local stations will likely start introducing their own channels serving a variety of both live and previously recorded news programs.
“The public radio audience is very digital savvy, but there are certainly some of the millennials and other folks who are looking for their listening experience exclusively on digital, so we want to reach them wherever they are,” Zach Brand, NPR's VP of digital media, recently observed.
